Faery’s Tale Design Journal Debuts

Carmichael, CA – Firefly Games has released the first in a series of design journals by the creators of Faery’s Tale, its forthcoming game of faery folklore for all ages, at www.firefly-games.com.

The first journal, by publisher and co-author Patrick Sweeney, talks about some of the games and industry authors who influences the rules of Faery’s Tale. Future journals will examine the long history of the project, the challenges of producing a game suitable for children as well as adults, and some of the game’s innovative rules.

Faery's Tale, the interactive storytelling game of adventure in the wondrous world of the fey, debuts in print in August from Firefly Games. Suitable for ages 6 & up, this exciting rules-light game lets you take on the role of a pixie, brownie, sprite, or pooka in an enchanted faery-tale forest. Faery's Tale is written by Patrick Sweeney, Sandy Antunes, and Christina Stiles, with fiction by Robin D. Laws, graphic design by Hal Mangold, and artwork by Patricia Ann Lewis-MacDougall and Jennifer Meyer. Faery's Tale will be available in both print and PDF formats. This 64-page book has a suggested retail price of $14.95 in print and $9.95 in PDF.

A Pixie’s Tale Released

Carmichael, CA – Firefly Games has released A Pixie’s Tale, a free fiction preview by Robin D. Laws for the upcoming Faery’s Tale game, at www.firefly-games.com.

Featuring art by Patricia Ann Lewis-MacDougall from the game, A Pixie’s Tale kicks off the story of four faery friends - Willow the pixie, Katria the brownie, Flynn the sprite, and Gimlock the pooka – out to rescue a kidnapped human friend. The four-part story continues in A Brownie’s Tale, which will be released next week.

Faery’s Tale Coming Soon

Carmichael, CA – Faery’s Tale, the interactive storytelling game of faery folklore for ages 6 & up, soars into direct release from Firefly Games in August.

Faery’s Tale debuts in print at GenCon Indy, with Firefly Games releasing a series of teasers and previews, including fiction by Robin D. Laws and an introductory adventure by Patrick Sweeney and Matt Forbeck, in the weeks leading up to its release. A PDF-format version will be released in July.

“This is the game I founded Firefly Games to publish, so while I’m very proud of all our products, I’m thrilled to see Faery’s Tale finally reach print,” said Patrick Sweeney, co-author and company president. “Over the years, I’ve heard from so many people looking for a game to play with their children or non-gamer friends – I think Faery’s Tale fills a real need in our hobby.”
